The Myrtle Warbler prefers to travel and dine in bunches. This morning, I had five within my binoculars' (rather narrow) field of vision. They come early and tend to stick around for a while too, like the Black & Whites. There is some conflicting information about this bird. Some sources, such as the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology refer to the Yellow-rumped Warbler as "two separate but closely related species: Myrtle Warbler and Audubon's Warbler." Other sources (e.g., birdnature.com) refer to the Myrtle without any mention of the Yellow-rumped. The National Zoo identifies the Myrtle as the "eastern race of the yellow-rumped warbler (AKA butter butt)." (I like that -- "butter-butt).
