The Blackburnian male (in picture) showed up as a onesie, hanging out in the treetops with the Myrtles (below). A bit later, I spied a female, and she was hanging with a pair of Magnolias (see yesterday). Strangely, the song demonstrated in the link above is somewhat different from that provided at this link, and utterly unrecognizable from that provided in this link. I mentioned yesterday that the Black-throated Greens I am hearing this year sound different from those in the past. The subject of variations in songs within a specie fascinating, but we'll have to leave that to blogs that cater to the afficionados. Heh.
